Experience:
Sandy began his professional career with the firm
of Deloitte, Haskins and Sells in 1979. In 1982, Sandy
joined the firm of Brown, Lyle and Blockman and later merged
his practice with Uiberall and Company in 1986. In 1990, the
firm changed its name to Uiberall, Leib, Blockman, Perry,
P.C., which later merged into what is now Watkins Uiberall.
Education:
Sandy
received his B.B.A. in Accountancy from Memphis State University,
Magna Cum Laude, in 1977 and his M.B.A. in Taxation from New
York University, with distinction, in 1979. At New York University,
Mr. Blockman was the recipient of the Maurice Rich Award for
the best thesis in taxation, awarded to a graduate from the
New York University Graduate School of Business Administration
or Law School.
Activities & Accomplishments:
- Authored several articles on federal taxation, including
a recent one explaining the advantages of a charitable remainder
trust in retirement and estate planning.
- Quoted in several periodicals, including the Commercial
Appeal and New York Times.
